Home Security Tip 1Install adequate lighting outside every entry way. You can pick up motion sensor activated lights at most department and hardware stores for under $20. 00. These can be set to cover a fairly large spread. It is recommended that you install lights outside every doorway to the house. If there is a side of the house that tends to be very dark it might be a good idea to install a light there as well to prevent concealment in the shadows. Home Security Tip 2If you have a privacy fence around your property this can give the feeling of security but this is not necessarily the case. Security fences can actually provide a safe opportunity for a thief to work his way into your home. Once inside the perimeter of the fence the thief can work on entry to your home without being seen by neighbors or people passing by. Install motioned sensor controlled security lights outside within the fenced area. If there is a gate to the fenced in area make sure if has a secure locking mechanism.

home security colorado springs

After many months of reviewing different cameras from top brands like Arlo and Canary, I’m ready to show you the best security cameras of 2019. I love the Nest Cam Indoor— obviously, or I wouldn’t have named it my best camera!Video wise, the Nest Cam impresses with 1080p HD display, a wide 130 degree field of view and the ability to zoom in eight times. The night vision is similarly clear with eight infrared LED sensors, and the camera comes equipped with two way audio. Not only does two way audio let you speak to whoever you’re recording, which can be an easy way to talk to family members from afar, but it’s also a great way to scare away intruders as a last ditch effort. You’d be scared too if a disembodied voice came screaming out at you to get out of their house! On a more negative note, the camera’s night vision wasn’t quite as clear as I’d like it to be. While the box said you’d be able to see for 15 feet, things got blurry for me at 10. However, I am quite pleased with the camera’s two way audio and smart platform integrations, which include Amazon Alexa, Fire TV, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. It’s hard to find a camera that integrates with Apple HomeKit, as its one of the less popular smart home automations, so I like that the Circle 2 really gives you options here. Of course, you’ll be able to watch your livestream or cloud storage footage on your Fire TV in addition to vocally commanding the Logitech Circle 2. Truly, home security has never been more convenient! While the Logitech Circle 2 includes 24 hours of free cloud storage plus unlimited streaming and downloads, I would recommend going with a membership, not only for the additional cloud storage but also for the person detection only available with the premium package. As you can see, the plans are reasonably priced and give you discounts for up to 5 cameras.
